United Arab Emirates-UN Partnership Proposal: Building Back Better Beyond COVID-19

The UAE is the region’s second largest economy and maintains unmatched appeal as a globally connected economic and strategic hub for international trade and cooperation. As a country that hosts more than 200 nationalities3 and 87.9 percent of the total population from foreign countries, the health and well-being of the Temporary Contractual Workers has of course a significant impact on the prosperity of the society as a whole.
The UAE was the first country in the region to detect COVID-19 cases and was quick to enact measures to contain its spread and enact a wide range of measures to limit its impact on the economy and society, including its foreign population.
