Voices from COP28 - “Verified for Climate” champions: Communicating science and solutions

Gustavo Figueirôa, biologist and communications director at SOS Pantanal from Brazil, and Habiba Abdulrahman, eco-fashion educator based in UAE, introduce themselves as champions for “Verified for Climate,” a joint initiative of the United Nations and Purpose to stand up to climate disinformation and put an end to the narratives of denialism, doomism, and delay. The “champions” form a network of trusted messengers who will use TikTok to share planet-saving information and drive ambitious action to tackle the climate emergency.
